About me
I’m Philipp Baaske, a visionary entrepreneur with a deep passion for science, technology, and innovation. In 2008, together with Stefan Duhr, I co-founded NanoTemper Technologies. Today, we’ve grown into a global leader in biophysical solutions for drug development and biomanufacturing, with a dedicated team of over 200 professionals. What makes NanoTemper unique? We’re 100% founder-owned, which allows us to innovate freely and maintain close relationships with our customers.
I come from a family of craftsmen and grew up in a small village in northern Bavaria. Now, as the co-founder and Executive Chairman of a globally operating biotech company, my drive has always been to create tools that empower scientists and help fight diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. More than 10,000 scientists worldwide use our solutions, and knowing that our work impacts lives is what motivates me every day.
Beyond work, I love to engage with people, learn something new, and get inspired. I value the small things in life, enjoy time with loved ones, and find joy in running, soccer, and science fiction.
Career Highlights
Throughout my journey, I’ve been honored with several accolades, including the German Innovation Prize and the German Founders Award, which reflect my commitment to driving transformative change in biotech. Capital magazine named me one of the "Top 40 under 40," and NanoTemper has been consistently recognized as a "TOP100 Innovator of the Year" among medium-sized companies.
I’m proud to serve as a Senator in the Bundeswirtschaftssenat (BVMW), contributing to the advancement of medium-sized businesses in Germany. I also participate in the IHK München & Oberbayern Fachausschuss für Industrie und Innovation, where I advocate for innovation and growth in the industry.
